Once I stopped laughing at this poor person's review regarding the dangers of leaded crystal, my joy turned to horror. To think that there are people with this level of ignorance is astounding. Not to mention that they still vote, operate machinery and rear children. Ok maybe I'm being a little harsh. Perhaps I'm having a bad day, so I apologize. I am a State Licensed Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor from New Jersey with over ten years experience. I am also a father. Hear this world: There is NO danger of lead contamination from crystal. Not from holding it, playing with it, twirling it or putting it in your mouth. If you eat crystal then you have a psychological disorder and certainly have bigger problems than potential lead poisoning. If your child eats crystal then you my friend are a bad parent. You are more likely to get mercury poisoning from High Fructose Corn Syrup (in almost all processed foods, including Ketchup!). Google this if you have doubts. Enjoy your Crystal and... Read more

As usual, Swarovski delivers a beautiful ornament for the tree. It is labeled 2011 in a small tag near the top of the ornament. As usual Amazon delivered the package in perfect condition.

I am going to list for you the package contents as it may seem confusing for collectors of Swarovski Crystal to receive an actual certificate of authenticity with the crystal. This does not. Instead is a small triangle detailing the "limited edition" nature of the ornament.

Package contents:

1. large triangle containing the ornament
2. White Square pamphlet indicating care instructions in many languages
3. Blue triangle pamphlet: this is your certificate of authenticity as well as your warranty card.

If you have not seen this ornament, it is very pretty. The icy clarity of the large sparkling facets portrays the nature of the lovely snowflake. If you don't have a tree to adorn, this ornament would probably look lovely hanging on a window or by itself on an ornament stand. The design is substantial and it does not look frightening fragile; but light enough as to not weigh down a bough on a tree. I think that this ornament would appeal to broad variety of potential gift-ees because it is simply beautiful. I bought three of them for my adult children and I am glad that I did. All the ornaments arrived in perfect condition inside attractive Swarovski boxes that will help to protect the ornaments for years to come. If you think ice is beautiful or you are attracted to simple heavy crystal, you will love this ornament. Actually, I can't think of anyone that would find this ornament anything less than simply beautiful. I am thinking of buying two more.

I have been collecting these for the past few years. I prefer the snowflake designs to the star designs, but both are spectacular. Hang these in a window and watch how they illuminate your room with sprinkles of rainbows. This year's design is a nice snowflake pattern with a lot of facets to make it sparkly.
